Close

Danny Wimmer’s career as a music industry taste-maker started more than 20 years ago as a promoter for the Warped Tour and other regional arena shows in his home town of Jacksonville, FL. He was a co-owner of Jacksonville’s Milk Bar, which quickly became known for featuring the latest up-and-coming artists. It was at the Milk Bar that Wimmer first discovered Limp Bizkit and brought them to the attention of Flawless Records. Wimmer then spent 10 years as a senior record company executive at Flawless/Geffen, Epic and Atlantic where he discovered and made records with Limp Bizkit, Staind, Puddle of Mudd, Kenna, and Operator. While still at Atlantic Records, Wimmer launched his first major festival, Rock on the Range, in 2007. After adding Carolina Rebellion and Epicenter to his festival roster, he left Atlantic and formed Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP) in 2011. As DWP has grown, he continues to oversee the curation of music, art, and entertainment at all DWP festivals. Wimmer’s leadership in the music business was highlighted in Malcom Gladwell’s book Blink. He also serves on the metal/rock committee for the Grammy’s.
